MxVision WeatherSentry Energy Edition helps energy officials anticipate potential outages due to severe weather and lightning, reduce service interruptions, as well as schedule and protect crews.

Weather drives your operations. Heat waves and cold fronts can create spikes in energy demands, possibly resulting in blackouts. Severe weather and lightning can strike transformers, leaving thousands without power. Ice and heavy snow can snap lines. MxVision WeatherSentry Energy Edition provides the tools needed to take proactive measures like positioning crews and scheduling staff. Simply put, MxVision WeatherSentry Energy Edition helps you stay ahead of the storm.

Lightning is one of your greatest concerns. It puts crews at risk and threatens service facilities. With Lightning Manager® , you can track lightning in real time. See where strikes are most concentrated and determine where outages are most likely.
Its alerting capability allows you to set up two customized zones of protection. Advisory and warning zones are represented by colored rings. When strikes occur within these zones, audio and visual alerts are triggered.

Display all strokes for a lightning strike— not just the primary stroke— to help you pinpoint and repair outages more quickly. Click on a color-coded icon to view details such as time, latitude and longitude, and more, so you can quickly trace lightning damage and restore power.

View lightning data in our layered map interface and combine it with your choice of map and weather data for a complete view of conditions in your area.

Now you can see lightning stroke data for the past 24 hours. Display the information on detailed maps or archive the data— time, latitude, longitude, amplitude, and polarity— to an Excel or .csv file. This exciting capability allows you to document, analyze, and report on lightning activity in your service territory for outage prevention, planning, insurance claims, and more.

Monitor all severe weather on one innovative user interface— radar, storm corridors, winds and lightning— for a complete view of approaching storms. National Weather Service (NWS) warnings, watches, and advisories can also be viewed as layers. You can select and display custom combinations of the weather and map data most important to your operations.

Areas of Maximum Impact show regions most likely to be effected by a tornado, thunderstorm, or flood— and are updated in real time as the NWS issues new bulletins.

Maps can include county lines, topography, highways, and more. This flexibility can help make for better, faster weather-related decisions.
